INTAN LIBRARY BACKGROUND
The National Institute of Public Administration Library
was established in 1973 at Jalan Elmu, Kuala Lumpur. In 1983, four other
branches libraries were open in;
- Northern Campus Library (INTURA) at Sungai Petani,
Kedah
- Southern Campus Library (IKWAS) at Kluang, Johor
- Eastern Campus Library (INTIM) at Kemaman,
Terengganu
- Central Campus Library (INTENGAH) at Petaling
Jaya
The main campus library at Bukit Kiara was officially
opened with the opening of INTAN Main Campus in 1985.
The INTAN Sabah Library was opened on 18th February
2002, with the opening new office of INTAN Sabah Campus at 16 and 17
floor, Wisma Perindustrian, Likas Kota Kinabalu Sabah.
The INTAN Sarawak Library was officially opened on
early the year 2002. Before that, the Library was under supervision of
INTAN Sarawak Officer and INTAN Bukit Kiara Librarian. And in the year
2004, INTAN Sarawak Library is under supervision of Library Assistant.
LIBRARY OBJECTIVES
To provide supports service for trains of efforts,
research and learning that is conducted at INTAN by having:-
- An orderly system to access information
- Provide reference and information materials
- Reference service and advise to users
- Extend and increase library collection by adding
electronic collection and audio visual aids
- Current awareness service
- Dissemination of information to users
LIBRARY MISSION
- To manage service and collection electronically
- To store, manage and distribute information via
electronic media
- To be the centre of excellence for reference
